The most ambitious, the longest, the most risky, the most extreme, in short, the best edition yet of the Volvo Ocean Race will set off on the 11th of October, 2008 from Alicante. Volvo Ocean Race has decided for the first time ever to start from the Mediterranean, and they couldn’t have chosen a better port than Alicante to do this. To celebrate this great event, there are plans for installations that will be open to the public over 23 days (from the 19th of September to the 11th of October) to receive all of the visitors that are interested in experiencing the Volvo Ocean Race start port event first-hand.
